In 1993, Phil took a position with PCA International, the largest operator of portrait studios in the country with studios in more than 2000 Wal-Mart stores across North America. Also, in 1993, Phil was provided with the opportunity to develop a custom software product for a startup background investigation company in Charlotte, N.C. This product turned out to be so advantageous for this client that they began telling their associates about it, and thus The Flexible Research System (FRS) was born. Between 1996 and 1999, Phil spent much of his spare time enhancing the FRS system and acquiring new clients until May of 1999 when the time was right with 15 national firms using FRS to take Imagination Technologies into a full-time endeavor. Imagination Technologies has grown into a company which is now providing background screening client and web solutions to more than 140 companies in the background screening industry.
