October 22, 2003: FRS.NeXT version 6.10 includes XML link for MVR records

FRS.NeXT version 6.10 has now been fully released to the FRS community. This is the first new release since our conversion to the FRS.NeXT platform. The cornerstone enhancement of this new version is the FRS MVR X-Change module.

The FRS MVR X-Change module is the new source in FRS for instant motor vehicle reports. Now that FRS is on the new .NeXT (pronounced dot next) platform, this new module represents our second offering of XML Web Services in FRS. This interface is provided through a joint effort with our newest business partner, Softech International. Now, FRS links directly via XML to Softech's backend Internet portal to quickly and efficiently process MVR requests. Softech provides MVR records for 41 states with plans to increase that further in 2004 and 2005.

This new weapon in the FRS arsenal utilizes the latest in XML and Internet technology to deliver another value-added service to the FRS community. This XML interface provides our clients with an immediate reduction in the labor required for processing MVR requests, as well as a tremendous improvement in the turnaround time service for the delivery of MVRs to their clients.

The MVR X-Change and the XML electronic invoicing features (provided in version 6.00) are just a small sample of the many innovations planned for the coming months with FRS.NeXT. Our goal to leverage XML and Web Services technology for the entire FRS community is in the forefront of our development plans.
