June 30, 2003: FRS.NeXT (pronounced
FRS dot next) is the new re-write and 32-bit conversion
of FRS, the Flexible Research System. FRS.NeXT includes
a total re-design of the user interface, utilizing the
latest Windows technologies available. The .NeXT
portion of the new name is an acronym for New eXtensible
Technology. This new FRS release represents
a major leap in technology, as we leveraged the latest
software development tools available for this offering.
The new innovations in FRS pave the way for the implementation
of many new leading-edge features in FRS that are coming
into high-demand for the background screening industry.
This new version has also been designed to take
advantage of the newest tools and interfaces available
in the latest operating systems such as Windows XP and
Windows 2000.
This
new release of FRS, the most widely used solution in the
background screening industry, retains the powerful system
functionality that has become its trademark, and adds
to that a more efficient user interface with updated menus
and navigation features. These changes, along with
the upgrade in system technology, amplify the automation
efficiencies that FRS has always brought to the table
for background screening operations.

After FRS.NeXT has been delivered and fully implemented at
our 100+ client sites, we will resume our continued enhancements
to FRS. With the new tools available in FRS.NeXT, our
first goal is to implement new XML (eXtensible Markup
Language) interfaces to enhance the import and export capabilities
of FRS and to provide access to several instant research sources.
